Refresh-your-WFH-Space

Global restrictions are slowly being lifted, the school session is in full swing and fall is right around the corner with winter to follow. With all of the above, I’m taking this time to get collect myself and refresh my work from home space. It’s the little things that can elevate your space and keep you focused while working from home. Here are some easy ways to refresh your WFH space now.

Switch it Up

Having your work from home routine together is a great thing and it’ll be tweaked until you find your sweet spot. But keep in mind that it’s good to mix it up from time to time even after you’ve ‘perfected’ your routine. With the season changing this may be the perfect time to refresh your WFH space and routine. Switching up your routine can get you out of that work rut. Think about updating the order you work or even your breaks. Another great tip is to find your peak performance hours and schedule your workday around that peak.

Clear the Space

One of my favorite ways to refresh my space is to clean and re-organize everything! Cleaning is also just an easy way to refresh your space at any time. Which for me also includes purifying the air and introducing new scents into my space After I’ve switched up my space, organized neglected areas I make sure I clean everything from top to bottom, leaving no key unturned. After I clear it all out I finish my space with an air purifier that helps filter allergens and orders. And finally, I enhance the mode with either a candle or my diffuser blend of the moment. Makes the room smell amazing and makes me feel good.

Elevate your Space

Now that you have your work from home space together, your work tools figured out, a routine in place and even your best WFH essentials it may be nice to upgrade a few things here and there. Another easy way to refresh your WFH space is by adding those finishing touches to elevate your space. These are a few things I’m adding to refresh my WFH space.

  1. Desk Pad – protect your workspace while adding personality
  2. Smart Coffee Warmer – keeps your tea or coffee warm longer
  3. Smart Assistant (Google Home, Echo, Apple HomePod) – a digital assistant for the little things
  4. mooas Multi Cube – Rotating Timer, Clock & Alarm for keeping you on track
  5. Message Board – for notes or mapping out ideas if you’re limited on space this desktop board is great.
  6. Cord Organizer – stylish way to manage cord clutter
  7. All in One Printer – Great for those “rare” times when you have to print, scan, or copy something. Also a time saver for not wasting time running around looking for places to print or scan.
  8. Lap Desk – For those rare times, you do want to work from the couch, bed, or anywhere else.

Move your Body

Working from home can cut out those few moments of fresh air and movement we may normally get from commuting to work or just being in an office so it’s a must that we schedule that it. Moving your body is just a necessity for your health. Move away from the desk, get up and stretch, jump, do neck exercises, or grab some fresh air. It’ll do your body well, clear your head, and even help refocus your mind for more productive work.

Get Social

Don’t forget about your social life. Surprised by this tip? Don’t be, this is one aspect that usually gets forgotten but is just as important. And it’s an easy way to refresh your WFH routine. Working from home tends to limit your social life just a little but it doesn’t have to stay that way. We need connection so we just have to make it a priority. Take to some to reach out to friends or family and schedule a quick call, coffee dates, or happy hours a few times a month (don’t overdo it).
