Earlier this year, in March, I attended an event that I was excited about attending, but that excitement was very short-lived. Based on what occurred I debated back and forth about posting a review however I don’t want other guests to endure what I did attending this event.
Blunts & Brunch is a reoccurring event hosted by Jane365 in the Washington, DC area. It’s promoted as a high-class, high-touch, elevated 365-infused brunch experience for those who enjoy it.
It is NOT.
THE EVENT
My friend and I had very high hopes for this event so much so that we willfully ignored several issues before even attending the event. Mainly major issues, around communication, the lack of and the miscommunication of the little not of information provided. We arrived at our scheduled time only to realize that the event so not only delayed about 2 hours but was grossly unorganized to the point that even those working the event had no idea what was going on. The location was advertised as a penthouse with several notices not to enter the kitchen…the penthouse was an “open” concept with the kitchen barely one foot away from guests as we were squeezed into this small space. The guests were seated on a mix of that torn college loveseat that your ex had and folding chairs along with folding tv dinner tables. Some were decorated with…St Patty decorations and others nothing. My friend and I were seated next to the open door, 20 degrees outside, on the loveseat with 2 additional people squeezed next to us. Our “complimentary gift box”….your cup, plates, and utensils for brunch along with one pre-roll. Mine was initially missing the pre-roll.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I could go on and on about all that went wrong with the event because there truly was so much. However, my biggest issues with the event were how I was treated and how it was handled on-site and after. Not going into the story details, the situation was not handled well. The “owner’ promised refunds which she never provided and both I and my friend had to eventually go through our banks. I left after wasting a solid 4 hours with no food and a complimentary gift box of paper utensils…which they ran out off like they didn’t have a guest list and reservations. We ended up grabbing drinks and food at the restaurant next door. Luckily there was one in walking distance.
I would not recommend this event or the company but I do hope that they’re got their things together.

Location is said to be private and changes. The Brunch we attended was hosted a “penthouse” in Southwest. It was entirely too small for the number of guests they had. Seating was completely inadequate.
Don’t waste an outfit and come as you please.
I never got a chance to eat but from other guests, we did hear this was the only saving grace of the event. Apparently, the food was good though not amazing. But also nothing really smelled or tasted infused.

No. Don’t waste your money and time. A backyard brunch with family would have been better.
